Islamic Rotating Calendar

Learning Objective
- To learn and be more mindful of the Islamic months throughout the year.
- To be able to clearly see at a glance when particular Islamic months will fall in the coming year.

Divide and mark up a paper plate or a piece of card into 12 sections. Label each section with the months of the Gregorian calendar. Cut a smaller circle from either a second paper plate or a piece of card and divide into 12 parts. Label the sections with the Islamic months. Assemble both circles together using a paper fastener. Match up the two circles so that the months line up correctly.
Use the calendar to discuss what months particular events will fall in e.g Ramadhan/Hajj/Family birthdays.
