Materials Needed:
Globe/World map
Worksheet Map isolating Middle East
Stickers/pens
Images of holy shrines in the area
Help the children become familiar with the sites of the holy shrines by sticking the images in the correct countries. Mark out using stickers, the route taken by Imam Husayn (as). Can extend the route using a different colour to show how the journey continued by Imam's family after Karbala.
Extend the activity by adding text labels printed from the flash cards made by Teaching Young Muslims or for older children the more detailed cards by Towards Jannah. Continue the journey as a timeline over the next 40 days, describing the events until the holy family finally return home.

A mother's prayer: O Allah, give my child a caring and sensitive heart. Help him to be honourable in his actions and attitudes and to be generously responsive to the needs of others. O Allah make him an example to others of what it means to follow You.
