Quranic Alphabet Series: Haa

ح Is for Hajj
The Ka’ba in Makkah, is a very special holy place built by Prophet Ibrahim and his son Ismail. Allah has told us in the Quran that everyone who can afford it, must make the trip to Makkah to perform the Hajj atleast once in their life. There is a special stone sent from heaven set in the Ka'ba called Hajar al-Aswad, the Black stone. Pilgrims from all over the world wear simple white clothes as they pray and walk around the Ka’ba seven times.

ح Is for Himar, Donkey
In Surah Jumu’a, Allah tells us about a group of people who were given a special book but they did not follow it. He compares them to a himar! Just like a donkey doesn’t become clever just by holding lots of books, we too need to make sure we use the Quran and follow what it says in the right way.
Activity: Listen to Surah Jumu’a and see if you can spot the word himaar. Can you remember what Allah is telling us?
Craft: Clothespin Donkey
