You are the highest of the high
The light of our Prophet's eyes

Who brought Islam to us and the whole world knows his name
You are the wife of Haider, the mother of Hussain,
Who gave his life for his deen, and suffered so much pain
Fatema
Wherever you are the truth goes
You are the Prophet’s precious rose
Your status only Allah knows

You taught us how to give and you showed us how to share.
You emphasised on morals and trained us to be fair
No matter if we're paupers or even billionaires

No matter how much I may try,
Your qualities how can I write,
You are the light of every life.

For you in heaven there is a special place assigned

You are so honest and so true
There is no one with your virtue

We can be thankful by saying Alhamdulilah. It is a beautiful phrase, which means we are praising Allah for being such an amazing Creator and thanking Him at the same time.

Materials Needed:
Card
Keyring
Pictures

Cut out some circles and have the child write on each, a blessing to be thankful for. For younger children, you could stick pictures of favourite food, toys and family members. Hole punch and place a keyring on the set.

Emphasis how when we recite tasbeeh and pass our fingers over each bead saying Alhamdulliah, we should concentrate on thinking of our blessings.

Use it regularly to help reinforce mindful recitation and instill a habit of gratitude. Additional circles can also be added on at a later date.

Prayer:
O Allah help me remember to always thank you for all the blessings you have given me and to use them in a way that makes you happy. Let me have good manners and be thankful to the people who are kind to me.

Key Learning Point:
Alhamdulilah is a beautiful dhikr we recite everyday in tasbih. It means to Praise Allah for who He is and thank Him for what He has given us. Activity: Alphabet Thanks and Praise
Pass around a bag of alphabet/Scrabble tiles. Have each child pick out a letter and think of a blessing Allah has given us, beginning with the letter chosen. Can also brainstorm as a group.
For the second round, have the children think of an adjective or Ism, to describe Allah, with their chosen letter tile. Can use the A to Z Asmaul Husna alongside.
Use the activity to help make clear the difference between thanks and praise.

Activity: What does Alhamdulilah mean?
Complete the worksheet by writing what you can thank Allah for on one side and Names you can use to praise Him on the other.

Activity: The pebble and the sweet

Activity: Find the blessing
On strips of paper, write different scenarios that could lead to possible moaning. Have the child act out the negative reaction and then turn in it a positive by looking for the blessing in it.

Activity: Alhamdulilah Tasbeeh

Extended Home Activity: As a family, take on the 1 day no complaining challenge! Wear a rubber band on your wrist as a reminder and mark on a chart every time you complain. Did it make you stop and look for the blessings before moaning about something?

The Quran: A Complete Set Of Instructions.

Learning Objective:
- To understand that the Qur'an is the final message sent by Allah
- To understand that it contains the complete set of instructions, and all the steps needed, to live in the right way and become our best.

Activity: Lego Building
Give the child a picture of a Lego model and the necessary bricks. Ask them to replicate it exactly.
Point out, that in order to complete the model correctly, you need to be given an instruction sheet. Allah, our Rabb has given us everything we need. He has sent the Qur'an containing instructions, with all the steps needed, to live in the right way and become our best.

Extension Activity: Follow Every Step!
Using the Lego instructions, talk about how you may not understand all the instructions clearly, or might get to a step, which may be difficult. Would that make the instructions wrong? Could you just skip it? What would happen if you missed it out? Could you ask for help?

As ‘abd ullah, servants of Allah, we must believe, follow and obey all the instructions of the Qur’an. There may be parts we don’t understand yet or find difficult. But we still can’t pick and choose what parts we want to obey, we have to follow it all. Allah is our Rabb, the instructions given by Him in the Qur’an, are because He knows what is best for us. If we want to grow and become our best, we must follow all the instructions correctly. Allah has sent the Imams as guides to help us understand and live the Qur'an in the right way.

The Messengers Of Allah

Google Image: Source Unknown

Lesson Objective:
- Understand the role of Prophets- Understand how the 3 major religions arose
- Understand that Prophet Muhammad is the final Prophet and Messenger
- Understand that the Qur'an is the final book and complete set of instructions from Allah.

Quran Verse:
Muhammadun Rasulallah
Muhammad (saw) is the Messenger of Allah 48:29

Lesson Introduction:

Allah sent 124,000 Prophets (Nabi) to guide us. Prophets are chosen by Allah and sent to teach us how to follow Allah and behave in a way that will help us become the best we can.
Allah gave some of the Prophets extra instructions to deliver to the people. These Prophets are called Messengers (Rasool). Prophet Musa (as), Isa (as) and Muhammad (saw) are 3 important Messengers. The instructions they brought were written into special holy books.

Key Learning Point:
Jews, Christians and Muslims all believe in Allah, but follow different holy books.
Prophet Muhammad (saw) is the last Prophet sent by Allah. He brought the final message of the Qur'an. The book contains the complete set of instructions, and all the steps needed, to live in the right way and become our best.

Activity: Role Play Messengers
Select 3 children to be the main Prophets to whom a book was revealed and have the others gather into a group.

Have the child acting Musa (as) say to the group 'Aminubillah', believe in Allah.
Ask the children if they'd like to follow Prophet Musa (as), then to line up behind him.
Explain how this group of people believed in Allah and took Prophet Musa to be the final Prophet. They followed him and the instructions he had brought upto that point, in the book called Torah. These people are called Jews.

Explain how God's message was not yet complete and Allah sent more Prophets after Musa (as)

Have the next child acting Isa (as) call out to the remaining group,'Aminubillah', believe in Allah.
Ask the children if they'd like to follow Prophet Isa (as), to line up behind him.
Explain how this group of people believed in Allah and took Prophet Isa to be the final Prophet. They followed him and the instructions he had brought upto that point, in the book called Injeel/Bible. These people are called Christians.

But God's message was still not complete. Prophet Isa (as) actually told the people, "A messenger will come after me, named Ahmad." 61:6
Allah kept on sending more Prophets until about 600 years later, Allah sent Prophet Muhammad (saw) as the final Prophet and the last Messenger.

Have the next child acting Muhammad (saw) to call out to the remaining group, 'Aminubillah'.
Prophet Muhammad (saw) told the people that he was 'khaatam nabiyeen' 33:60, the last Prophet.
A group of people who had believed in all the prophets upto then, now accepted that Prophet Muhammad (saw) was sent by Allah as the final Messenger. They followed him and the complete set of instructions in the final book called the Qur'an (5:3). These people are called Muslims.

A Recipe For Success

Qur'an verse:
Inna hadhal quranna yahdi
Indeed this Qur'an guides 17:9

Activity: Follow The Recipe
Show the children a recipe to make some cookies or cake. Read out the ingredients but as you do so mention how you don't have certain items and so will substitute it for another, e.g. salt for flour, vinegar for water, coffee instead of chocolate. You could even leave a key ingredient out saying you don't think it'll make any difference. Mix the ingredients together and then say that you feel lazy to put them in the oven. Is it ok to just eat them as they are? Do you think these cookies will taste as yummy as the recipe says they should? Why not?!

Allah has given us a recipe to follow in the Qur'an, showing us how to live. We have to listen and do what Allah says and follow His recipe and instructions in exactly the right way. We can not substitute the ingredients or change the recipe with what we think is better. We can not follow some parts of the recipe and leave out others! We have to follow all the steps in the right way so that we can become the best human beings that Allah has designed us to be!

Allah is my Rabb

Lesson Objectives:
Quran Verse:
Download complete lesson plan: Allah is my Rabb

- Understand the meaning of the name Ar-Rabb
- Understand how deeply Allah loves us
- Understand how dependant we are on Allah

Innallaha Rabbi
Most surely Allah is my Rabb 19:36

Key Learning Point:
Who is Allah? He is our Rabb.
Rabb is often translated as Lord in English, but Rabb means much more than that.

Allah is our Rabb. Ar Rabb is the one who created us, looks after us, gives us everything we need and then helps us grow and become our best!
When we think about all the things our mums do for us, it reminds us of Allah, our Rabb. Allah loves and cares for us 70x more than our mothers!
Everything we have is because of Him. We can never count the blessings He has given us and we can never measure how much he loves us!

Growing Beans

Lesson Introduction:
Plants, animals and people all need water to survive. Life on Earth would be impossible without it.
It is Allah, our Rabb who sends water from the sky. The rain helps the plants to grow and gives us and the animals food to eat.

Activity:
1. Let the children feel how hard the broad bean seeds are. Talk about how the single seed will eventually grow into a beanstalk producing more beans with new seeds inside.

2. Have the children taste some broad beans and talk about how it is Allah, our Rabb who created the seeds, provided it with everything it needs, looked after it and helped it grow.

3.Give each child a bean (soak them in water overnight to make this stage easier) and let them remove the now softened seed coat, to open it up.

seed,  seed with coat removed to identify root, cooked broad beans to taste

4. Identify the root and explain how a baby plant is already in the seed ready to grow. The surrounding seed is the food store which give the seed energy to break open from the coat and help the first roots/shoots emerge.

5. Fold up a paper towel sheet, moisten with water and fold it into a clear cup/glass jar, placing the bean between. Another bean can also be placed in a dry jar to show that seeds need water to grow and emphasize Allah's blessings and care for His creation.

6. Observe the bean over the next few days, watching it germinate and produce roots/shoots.
The beans can also be planted out and grown fully to give an opportunity to watch and discuss the whole cycle.

Allah, our Rabb, never leaves us alone. He pours His love and care down on us, just like water on the seed. He does not just water us with for a while and then forget about us. God never forgets about us. He always remembers us, always cares for us, always looks after us and makes sure that He provides what we need to live and grow.
